Beauty UK Stripey Blusher - Review and Swatches

Hello beautiful people! We all have so many pink blushes because it is a staple color to give a healthy flush to your cheeks. The one I am reviewing today is the Stripey Blusher from Beauty UK which stands out amongst my collection. Read on to find out why!

Product Claims

Gives a healthy shimmering complexion, try our brighter shades for a rosy glow!

What Do I Think?

I really liked the screw on top lid because it’s so secure plus it fits in with the cute stripey design the blush is named after. I was pleased that there was no fallout and the texture of the blush was pretty nice too. It was easy to blend and quite pigmented. The great thing about this product is that it gives you three benefits in one. It has two pink stripes, two neutral ones and a highlighting strip. I was really happy with the highlighting effect this blush has because it is really subtle and beautiful with fine shimmer particles. This is what sets this blush apart from the others in my personal collection. You may use the individual shades separately or swirl them together for a lovely color that will show up according to your skin shade but in my opinion it will flatter everyone. You can see how it appears on my neutral tone when all the colors are combined. The lasting power is pretty impressive too. In pleasant weather it lasted over 6 hours on my combination skin before I removed it myself. I did not even feel its intensity lessen over time. All in all this is a great product for ladies of all ages I believe and is a good bargain.

Essence Long Lasting Lipsticks – Review and Swatches

I thought of giving these lipsticks a try when I newly discovered my love for lipsticks and didn’t want to jump straight off to expensive ones. Why do I still use them? Read on.

Product Claims

Essence long lasting lipsticks provide your lips with intensive colour for several hours without drying them out. You’re sure to find whatever you’re looking for – from bright pink to intensive red and chilled-out berry to subtle nude shades. The essence logo on the texture and the matt, black packaging with a ring of colour to match the actual colour of the lipstick are true eye-catchers!

What Do I Think?

The packaging is a simple matte black casing with a coloured ring that matches the colour of the bullet which is quite convenient while looking for a specific colour (if you own many of these). I didn’t find the packaging to be cheap, not high-end of course but not cheap too, quite sturdy though. The formula is sheer but buildable which makes it quite fun to wear them as stains or with full coverage. These were my go-to-lipsticks during university days because these are lightweight and moisturizing, they neither bleed nor feel heavy on lips at all. I didn’t used to get much time to touch-up my lipstick while working in the lab and I could forget about that whenever I was wearing any of these. They do have a strong sweet fruity scent which lingers on and might make you uncomfortable depending on how sensitive you are to detect odours; I did not notice the scent to be annoying though. Now coming to the original claim, their lasting power. Yes they are long lasting, 4 – 5 hours without touch-ups. The best thing about these is that they fade evenly leaving a stain on the lips which stays for another 2 – 3 hours, pretty impressive right? I still use them whenever I want something very comfortable on my lips and I love them.

Coral Calling – Slightly Pinkish Coral

On The Catwalk – A Balanced Red-Purple Berry (This shade is very tricky, looks different on everyone depending upon how less or more pigmented your lips are. On darker skin tones it looks more subtle and on lighter skin tones it appears deeper)

Barely There – Rosewood Nude

Blush My Lips – Bright Pink-toned Berry

All You Need Is Red – Bright Neutral Red

Colour Crush – Bright Blue-toned Fuschia

Price PKR 490

Availability All stores with Essence Cosmetics Stand and online at Just4girls.pk.

Pros

Buildable
Moisturizing
Long Lasting
Good Pigmentation

Cons

Strong scent

My Rating 4/5

Luscious Super Moisturizing Lipsticks - Swatches (New Shades!)

Hello ladies! As we all know Luscious has introduced four new shades to their super moisturizing lipsticks’ range i.e., Flirty Fuschia, Mauvelous, Orange Punch and Uptown Red. Today I bring you their swatches! For detailed review on Luscious Super Moisturizing Lipsticks, click here.

I bought Orange Punch and swatched rest ones for you guys. Enjoy! :)

Flirty Fuschia – Bright mid-tone Fuschia
A bright yet warm pink which will look good on all skin tones.

Mauvelous – Creamy Lavender
A bright lavender which most probably will look good on cooler and neutral skin tones.

Orange Punch – Bright clean Orange
Bright orange which I had thought will look neon on my warm skin tone but it doesn't and I am loving it!

Uptown Red – True Red Cream
A bright tomato red which also will look great on all skin tones.

Taken in daylight
Taken in artificial light

I found all these shades to be extremely pigmented like other lipsticks from their range but these particular shades are perfect for summers in my opinion, really bright yet warm. I was not sure if Orange Punch would suit my warm skin tone as such shades most of the times appear neon on me and don't look good but this one looked bright and warm at the same time and brightened up my face. I have finally got one orange lipstick! So happy.

Price PKR 645

Availability Major departmental stores across Pakistan or online from Luscious Cosmetics.

What shade has caught your eye?

Fizzah

Luscious Studio Secret Instant Brightening Concealer - Review

Hello beautiful people! Today’s review features the “Luscious Studio Secret Concealer” which was part of our latest haul and you guys wanted to know how it turned out for us. Fizzah has been using this for quite some time and recommended it to me but I wasn’t convinced because of the price tag. Read on to find out if I felt it was worth the price.

Product claims

The secret to picture-perfect complexion. Formulated to effectively cover and brighten under-eye circles, erase spots and even out skin. Provides smooth, long-lasting, invisible coverage for a professionally air-brushed finish.

What do I think?

The product comes in a black pen form which dispenses product when you twist it from the bottom. That is a great plus because it is hygienic, makes it easy to apply and does not result in product wastage. The pen holds 2.3mL of product. The texture is in between liquid and cream and does not feel cheap at all. The coverage is really good; I have noticed only a small amount of the product is enough, no need to layer it up to achieve the perfect coverage. You may like to work it out with your ring finger but I have always noticed that a brush works best to flawlessly blend the concealer.

It tends to set quickly so you need to work fast with it especially in colder weather. It blends pretty well too and does not feel heavy once applied on my combination skin type. It neither settled into fine lines nor caused any grey-ing of the under eye area and did really well in covering as well as brightening the eye area. I am really impressed by its staying power; it lasted pretty long on me over foundation without setting powder around 8 hours in fall weather. I got the lightest shade “Number 1”, which is perfect for my neutral tone. The surprising part was that there were no shades below this to cater to cool toned people. Overall, this concealer works great but a bit overpriced in my opinion.

Price PKR 925 (old price) PKR 1125 (new price) (I got it on the older price since the new stock had not arrived yet on the store)

Availability Major departmental stores across Pakistan or online from Luscious Cosmetics and Just4girls.

Pros
Good coverage
Not drying
Does not accentuate fine lines
Brightening
Great lasting power
Good packaging

Cons
A bit overpriced
No shades available for cool skin tones
Some people may feel it sets too quickly for proper blending

My Rating 4/5

What do you look for in a concealer? Have you tried this one?

Makeup Revolution Vivid Blush Lacquers – Review and Swatches

Hello ladies! So I am pretty late on this one as many of the bloggers have already reviewed these but better late than never so let’s begin.

Product Claims

Ultra intensive liquid blush for intense pop of colour and easy to blend.

What Do I Think?

When I had these babies in my hands I couldn’t help but think “These are so darn cute!” Each bottle is the size of an adult palm and comes with a pump dispenser which, in my opinion is just the right packaging for a liquid product. The cap secures the product nice and tight so can be easily tossed inside the purse.

The pump needs to be pressed a few times for the first time to dispense the product but don’t be hasty otherwise you might end up with excess product on your hand. I got three shades, Bloom, Desire and Heat. These are matt, very creamy, extremely pigmented and blend easily. I tested these without any primer, foundation, setting powder or powder blusher underneath and they stayed for good 3 hours and faded within 4 to 5 hours leaving behind a healthy glow. The staying duration will definitely increase if a primer or a powder blusher is worn underneath these. Once blended, they set quickly and do not move. Here is the proof: After swatching these I rubbed my arm vigorously under water but the product didn’t budge, washing it with soap and water also did not remove it completely, this talks a lot about their being water-resistant. I feel these will also perform well in warm humid weather.

This was my first time trying out a liquid blush; I have never used any cream blusher either mainly because I prefer such products to be in powder finish for myself as they are, in my opinion, easy to work with. I had to mention this because I, not being into liquid blushes, made a mistake, yes, a grave mistake. I have read people saying that liquid blushes, including MUR Blush Lacquers, can be easily blended with fingers and that is their plus point, I agree. But for some like I, who is new to liquid blushes and does not know the correct application technique can end up with a “slapped” face in the attempt to use fingers to blend the product (especially with darker blush shades) and I actually almost hated these babies for my blunder. I am really sorry for that my babies! The best way to apply this product would be either to use a beauty blender, a brush for cream products (I have neither) or a regular flat foundation brush. I used my MUA F1 Foundation brush to blend it which gave my skin a healthy glow (very little goes a long way). Moreover, I noticed that using fingers for blending ended up with most of the product on fingers rather than the face; that’s right, I learnt my lesson.

Bloom: Natural leaning towards peach (looks more natural on warm skin)
Desire: Somewhere between a neutral and warm pink (I feel it looks warm on my skin)
Heat: Deep Peach (will flatter warm and dark skin ladies a lot)

Price PKR 600 (£3.00)

Luscious Cream Liner Kohl Pencils – Review and Swatches

Hello pretty ladies! Viral infection is everywhere and I have caught it too, I hope it gets better soon. Take care of yourselves guys.

The product under scrutiny today is the Luscious Cream Liner Kohl Pencils. They have re-launched this product with improved formula.

Product claims

A velvety liner for the eyes containing a blend of antioxidants and vitamins. Richly pigmented to deliver intense, gorgeous colour. Glides on softly without tugging or irritating your eyes.

What do I think?

I got these in Black Onyx, Molten Gold, Moss Green, Navy Blue and Snow White. To begin with, the packaging doesn’t look cheap and the cap tightly secures the product making it travel-friendly. The product itself glides on smoothly without tugging and pigmentation is fairly good but needs to be layered up to build intensity. I wore Black Onyx as eye liner and ended up with panda eyes after about 3 hours and it transferred to my eye lids too (I have oily lids even in this weather), so probably I won't be using these as eye liners. I shall definitely be using it when I want to do a smoky eye because all of these blend easily due to their creaminess and apply easily on waterline. I used Molten Gold on my waterline and it did stay there for good 3 hours. All those ladies out there who love smudged eye liners these might work for you. Moreover these do not go off easily with water and soap, staying power is justified but I wish they didn’t transfer, oh well, maybe not for my oily lids. I also feel they are overpriced a bit, since their Bold Intense Eyeliner Pencils are also priced the same and I wished these came in a twist up pencil at this price.

Wearing Black Onyx on eye lid and Molten Gold on waterline

Black Onyx – True black (not the blackest)
Molten Gold – Pale golden (a good nude for waterline, looks more yellow in swatches as compared to in person)
Moss Green – A dark green
Navy Blue – A deep blue
Snow White – Pure white

Price PKR 395 (US $3.93)

Availability All stores with Luscious Cosmetics stand and online at Luscious Cosmetics and Just4girls.pk.

Pros
Good pigmentation
Very creamy
Travel-friendly packaging
Blendable

Cons
Over Priced
Transfers

My Rating 3/5

Hey Guys! I am super excited to share these lipsticks with you today because I have loved this range from Germany based brand, Catrice, for a long time and I finally got the chance to lay my hands on these beauties! I think this formula and the awesome shade selection is going to perfect for all sorts of weather. Read on to find out why they have captured my heart!

What Do I Think?

Picture taken Indoor
Picture taken in daylight
Rarely does a product come along that ticks all the boxes. Ladies, I believe I have found the perfect lipstick! The packaging is luxurious, sturdy and really helpful too. I love the classy black design and how the bottom is the same color as the bullet with the shade name and number on it, encased in a crystalline structure. The formula was super creamy which is why this is the first time I did not apply a lip balm underneath a lipstick. It still turned out fabulous! The lasting power is quite nice too because it lasts around 4 hours and even stays almost completely intact through a light snack. It has a mild sweet berry scent which is quite pleasant and does not linger at all. The shades I got were all creamy and suit my neutral toned skin well. I got three shades which I will be showing you today so hold on to your hearts lipstick lovers!

Berry Bradshaw

This is a deep intense berry color. This will look good on every skin tone, some more than others. It is great for sophisticated mature looks and also vampy ones. Every girl needs a little Sex and the City in their lives right?

Pinkadilly Circus

What a cute name! This a fresh bright pink color that is the perfect balance between warm and cool so I am pretty sure it will look good on everyone. It is actually deeper than it looks in the swatches.

The Lips are on Fire

Aptly named because it is a fiery coral that will make people wonder if you are wearing pink or orange? Quite the chameleon! It will look on neutral and cool tones because it is almost neon so warmer toned beauties should definitely swatch it before buying it.
