Hey girls! Right now we are in the middle of the scorching summer in Pakistan so if you have an event to attend, I can sympathize with you. We all look for that one foundation that can withstand the summer heat and constant sweating this close to the equator. Read out to find out if Ofra foundation stood up to the occasion.

What Do I Think?
I did not pick this shade #2 for myself. It was kindly sent to us by the lovely Sumbul of Makeup 4 U, which is exclusively selling Ofra Cosmetics Lab in Pakistan online. Unlike other Ofra products, the packaging is pretty decent. I do feel the text fading off it though. It comes in a glass bottle so it’s not travel friendly. However, the pump prevents wastage and works quite well dispensing the right amount of product. You get 36 mL for $39.95 USD, which is generous for a foundation since most come in 30 mL packaging.
Looking at the shade range (Total 13), I am happy to see a good transition from fair-medium-dark in depth. There is only one shade each for cool toned and neutral toned ladies (#1 and #4) in my opinion from online swatches. I have #2, which is for fair, warm toned people. Since I fall in the fair neutral toned category, the yellow pigment shows through a bit making me look “brighter”. I was surprised that I could actually carry off this shade. A great thing about their shade range is that none of them is extreme toned meaning #2 is not very yellow. I would say online shopping for this particular foundation will not be a chore especially since there are good options for South Asian skin tones.
The coverage is quite high and I believe it could be medium to full with no problem building it up. I easily obtained high coverage with a wet Real Techniques Miracle Sponge even though most people use a brush for that. The finish is a flat matte and it sets pretty quickly. The texture is nice and the consistency is relatively thin. I don’t think it presents any problem with blending but it’s best to apply it in sections and blend fast.
Coming to the lasting power, I am impressed. See for yourself. All photos were taken by my camera phone and remain untouched.
The first time I used a wet Real Techniques Miracle Sponge but pumped out more than I needed so here it is in daylight.
The second time, I used the same sponge but less foundation and the L.A. Girl Pro Conceal in Orange under my eyes and around my mouth. This was taken in daylight.
Fast forward nine hours later after I had made two batches
of fries and ate one by myself. Everything was in place except for my under eye
because I had runny eyes that day and constantly wiped that area. The before
(left) and after (right) were taken in bathroom lighting.
I was getting ready for a family wedding and thought I’d skip concealer in a hurry so I put two layers of foundation under the eyes and a thin layer all over my face and neck using a Real Techniques Expert Face brush. These were taken indoors at night after I returned from the event 5-6 hours later.
All my experiences were in the summer so you can see how well this foundation performed on my sensitive combination skin. I use ELF Face primer in Clear, Catrice Prime and Fine Translucent Powder and Ofra Setting Spray in my foundation routine.
Do check out the video below to see live swatching of this foundation and observe how it looked indoors and in direct sunlight that day.
I hope you found this review and video useful in deciding whether Ofra Absolute Cover Silk Peptide Foundation is worth a try. I think this delivers and is worth the price tag especially since Ofra often offers 30% discount codes through its affiliates.
P.S. This reviews is for the older Ofra foundation formula. They have re-launched the product with a new and improved formula and some more shades added to the range.

Impressive result but quite pricey. Girls are all hush hush over their liquid lipsticks.
ReplyDeleteActually I think it's fairly priced. Inglot's 35mL HD Foundation bottle is for 3700 and that too does not oxidize and bears heat. What I have observed is good foundations do cost a bit but they are worth it if they perform. And yeah girls anew to makeup do that. Their liquid lipsticks have an amazing formula. We love those.
